Well, this thread is rather old, but since Felicia revived it, I figured I'd submit my goals for 2010, rather than try to clear the fog on what happened back in 2007 (a far better year for my real estate investments than 2008 and 2009 turned out to be, unfortunately).
My real estate investing goal for 2010 is to buy a single property. That sounds modest, but I'm looking to buy a multi-unit property, along the 4+ units size, and sign some rental agreements for serious cash flow and monthly income.
This goal will, sadly, require a massive amount of up-front investment, as lenders typically like to see 20% down on properties like that, and I'm probably looking at a purchase price of $200-300K, which means a pretty serious down payment.
Still, one day I plan on retiring on income from rental agreements alone, and I don't plan on waiting until I'm 65 for that to happen, either. I want to retire young, d@mmit!
Anyone else care to share their real estate investing goals for 2010?
Cheers,
